September!!

We have a few fun events for the month of September! So jot them in your calendar and be apart of all the action!!

September 15th at 7pm is our Ward Family Home Evening. We are all going to the Temple's Visitors Center to enjoy a wonderful night together as a ward family. We will be having dessert too so you wont want to miss it!!

September 17th!!! Don't miss this!! We will be having a yummy dinner and a night of learning with our fellow sisters. You really don't want to miss this one!

September 29th!! Come join the "Empty Nesters" for a fun adventure! We will be meeting in Pine Valley at the old church at 6:00 pm for a quick tour. Afterwards, we will be going to the Hennick's home. But if you can't make the tour come straight to the Hennick's home (510 Pine Valley Road) at 6:30 pm. It'll be a fun night!!

Attention NEW WARD MEMBERS!!

This Sunday, July 27th at 6:30 pm there will be a "New Ward Member Fireside" at the Bishop's house. It will be a fun night full of dessert and getting to know the leaders of our ward. Bishop Cotters address is 1977 View Point Drive in Stone Cliff! Hope to see you all there!

Summertime!

I hope everyone is looking forward to the heat and school being out!

We have a fun party coming up at the end of the month. The Relief Society "Hula Dinner Party ," Wednesday, May 28th @ 6pm. Located at the Pavillion behind the Church. Join us for for some yummy food, a special class on healthy summer smoothies and fun ideas to do with your families. Sister Ty Judy and her cute friends will be dancing the "Hula" for us, you can also join in. It should be lots of fun so see you all there!!

The Book Group will be reading Edenbrooke & Blackmoore both by Julianne Donaldson. We will be meeting to discuss the books sometime in August. Stay posted for location and time.

A. The stake wants us to have a minimum of three gallons of cooking oil per person by the end of March.

We hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas and now to celebrate the New Year. Our first activity for the New Year is Book Group on Wednesday, January 8 @7pm at Patty Foote's home. (1540 Stone Cliff Drive) We will be discussing the book Through Cloud and Sunshine," by Dean Hughes.

December!

Tomorrow night is our wonderful Christmas Relief Society dinner. If you signed up to bring either an appetizer or a dessert, don't forget to bring those! Also remember it is not going to be at our church building. It will be at the Crimson Ridge building. We will start at 6:30pm so be ready to eat a fantastic meal and enjoy a nice program. There will be babysitting provided as well. Can't wait to see you all there!!

This Sunday, December 15, will be a special Stake Conference meeting at the Burns Arena @ 10am-12pm. We will be hearing from Elder L Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve. Also we will be finding out how our stake will be split. Don't forget!!

Holidays and Such

A last minute reminder for Book Group tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20th at 7pm at Janis Curran's House. Her address is 2137 Stone Canyon Circle. We will be discussing "Killing Kennedy" by Bill O'Reilly! Come join us and talk about the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. 

There is definitely some great things coming up in December and we are so excited. The ward Christmas Party will be Monday, December 9th at the Church. Also the Relief Society Dinner and Program will be so fantastic this year. We will be celebrating all of the women in Christ's life and of course Him. Come and enjoy an amazing meal and night with the sisters. The night will be Wednesday, December 11th at 6:30pm. It will be held at the Crimson Ridge Building.

  • 53 percent = number of teens that clear their browser history to keep web visits off the record
  • 46 percent = number of teens that close/minimize their browser when a parent walks near (to hide the web site)
  • 34 percent = number of teens that hide or delete instant messages or videos
  • 23 percent = number of teens that lie or omit discussing details with parents about online activity
  • 23 percent = number of teens that use a PC their parents don't check
  • 21 percent = number of teens that use an Internet-enabled mobile device
  • 20 percent = number of teens that use privacy settings to make web content viewable only by friends
  • 20 percent = number of teens that use private browsing modes or proxy web sites (which are free)
  • 15 percent = number of teens that create a private email address unknown to their parents

          • View reports from filters
          • Log into their social networks and friend your children on these services. Many have very detailed privacy settings. Depending on the network, you will find different things about your children.
          • Never give your children the password or restriction codes. Change them often.
          • Get the passwords from your kids for all apps and services
          • Perform random checks weekly
            • Over shoulder
            • Look at app history on mobile device
            • Look at texts
            • Look at browsing history
          • Set Parental Controls on ALL electronic devices
          • Know what they download - books, music, movies, apps, etc....
          • Restrict times & places (in the open with people around) that kids can use the electronic devices
          • Place computers in public area
          • Take electronic device away at night - have the charging station next to Mom & Dad
          • If they want to find it, they will..... therefore, above all, EDUCATE YOUR CHILDREN
