May Book Group

For reading group we are reading THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN by Kate Morton.  It's an easy read that you don't want to put down.......It's also on Ann Romney's list of favorite books.  Because of the theme of the book we will be meeting in Patty Foote's beautiful backyard on Wed. night May 9th @ 7:00.

May Cooking Group

Wednesday May 2 at Amy Gray's house at 7:00.  She will be demonstrating some simple cake decorating that we all can practice, while she shows us how to do it.  Don't bring anything, everything you need will be provided.  Her address is 1972 S. 2580 E., Serenety Hills.

Social Networking Class

We are going to have a class on social networking.  Matt Kearl will be teaching us about using different social network sites such as facebook, pinterest, etc.

This will be held on April 18th in the Relief Society Room at 7:00.  Babysitters will be provided so come out and learn what great technology we have right at our fingertips.

The Worth of a Women's Soul

The Worth of a Woman’s Soul presented by Geoff Steurer, a licensed marriage and family therapist will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 7pm at the Stake Center Chapel.  This is a Stake Relief Society Fireside to help sisters learn truths, expose myths, and find joy!  Come be edified, rejuvenated, uplifted, and blessed.  It is a night you don’t want to miss.

March Book Group

March 14, 7:00 pm at Janis Curran’s home. (2137 Stone Canyon Cir)  “The Book Thief”  will be the book for March, and continue reading “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” for April.

March Cooking Group

March 7, 7:00 pm at Elizabeth Adam’s home.  (1746 S. Cliff Point Dr.) “Heritage Recipes” so bring a favorite family dish that has been passed down for generations in your family, or choose another country and bring a dish native to that area.

Humanitarian Project

For the  next few weeks we will be collecting used jewelry for the Dove Center.  They have a program where they take the jewelry, repair it if needed, and sell it at places where they might have a booth where they can share with people the various services that are available through their facility.  This helps spread community awareness, and the money from the jewelry sales goes to help women in need.  Please  bring any jewelry you don't use anymore to Relief Society, where we'll have a basket to collect it through the month of March.  Thanks for your support!

February Relief Society Activity

"For the Worth of Souls"  on February 15th. We will meet at the church at 7:00 in the R.S. room.  Everyone will bring a pair of shoes and tell a brief story about them.  Example; favorite, wedding, best bargain, running, oldest, newest, etc.  In sticking with the Valentine's theme we will be having a CHOCOLATE fondue for dessert.

February Book Group

Book group will be Wednesday, February 8th at Mary Ann Young's house.  We are reading Team Of Rivals by Doris Kerns Goodwin. Books are available at the library as well as the audio version.

Daughters in My Kingdom Challenge

We want to challenge the sisters to read the" Daughters in my Kingdom" that was giving to you by next month in preparation of the Relief Society Birthday in March.  It is such a beautiful book and Sister Beck, our general RS president wanted every sister in the church to have one. The First Presidency has encouraged us to "study this book and allow its timeless truths and inspiring example to influence our lives."  As Relief Society sisters we are part of a wonderful heritage.

February Cooking Group

February crept up on us so fast that we didn't get the cooking group posted before it was here, but we had a wonderful night at Ann Staples house.  She did an amazing job teaching us all how to eat healthier.  She gave us so much information and we will be posting it here soon so watch for that.  She has lots of links and recipes to give us.  Thanks Ann for all your hard work and sleepless nights :)

January Book Group

Book group will be on Wednesday January 11th at 7:00.  We still need someone to host it that night.  Everyone come with a list of books we could read and we will discuss and plan for the new year.

Cooking group will be a Jenie Rainey's on Wed Jan. 4th at 7:00.  We are doing soups and we will plan out the themes for each month for the entire year.  So everyone come and give us your input!!!
